Great authentic japanese onsen experience we really felt was special. The onsen pools are extensive offering both inside and outside options. I often found that I had the whole onsen to myself or only a few other patrons - clientele is mostly Japanese, far less tourists than other spots. The outside pools offer a unique experience with 10 soaking tubs as well as the main pool - with the snow and woods surrounding you it was magical especially at night or early morning and while snowing. While there are a few safety railings and mats that spoil the magic a little, yes it does look as good as the photos suggest. We loved the traditional yukata/samae that everyone wears too. We booked the room with private onsen but didn't even use it because the outdoor onsens were so good. Buffet was great quality and enjoyable for both breakfast and dinner - I especially enjoyed the live cooking stations - the tempura was a stand out- light and crispy. The airport shuttle was convenient and cheap.

Everything is likeable with this resort you will get a wonderful experience and what you paid for! The onsen is brilliant especially the open-air onsen looking at the sky and nature as you feel like you are a part of the atmosphere. Many different onsens to try so it will be an onsen-hopping moment. The food is delicious as I had the buffet for breakfast and dinner, they have many dishes to choose from, also the dessert area soft-served ice cream was a bonus! The room is very nice and clean, I had the private onsen room and it was brilliant! The beds are comfortable, I have even tried the futons and it is a comfy experience indeed. The tatami mats in the room make it very special and it's very present chill down in the tatami room. Overall I love this place and it was an eye-opening experience.

The included breakfast & dinner buffet had lots of amazing choices - no chance of going hungry. The Onsen area was very clean & the outdoor tubs & spa pool beautiful - the hot springs pools are quite traditional in design - so if you are looking for a modern spa experience this may not be your cup of tea. The whole resort was very tranquil - which was great after our stays in some of Japan's crowded cities. We liked the location in particular because it was a bit isolated - not in town - so it was quiet, but if you wanted more bustle & dining options this is probably not the place for you.

- Nice onsen with different Flavours. Outdoor and indoors very big. - wide range of breakfast and dinner selection with scheduled time for crowd management. - Very classy feel. - Recreation corner with table tennis, mini badminton and claw machines. - Rooms are spacious. Toilet is small but not essential as most bath and stuff done in onsen. - Convenience store in hotel with good selection at reasonable prices. - Unlimited coffee in lobby 24 hours. Nice hot desks for those who need to catch up on some work.

This is an excellent place to stay. The onsen was fabulous - lots of choice of baths, large outdoor area with beautiful views. They swapped the men's and women's onsen location each day so you got to see both of them which was great. The food was fabulous. I am celiac and still managed to find food that I could eat. We were met in the carpark and made to feel extremely welcome.
